Blood Knot - A stopper knot. Takes longer to tie and untie than the figure-of-eight, but I think it looks nicer. I use it as a stopper on lines that don't need to be untied often. It gets its name from its use on the end of cat o' nine tails (I've made a few of them but didn't have them handy at the time of writing so no photos are available)

Heaving Line or Franciscan Monk's Knot - A practical and decorative knot used to add weight to the end of a heaving line or to finish the ends of a Monk's belt rope.

Monkey's Fist - A functional and decorative knot commonly found in heaving lines, sometimes with a stone or ball bearing in the center to give it some weight. The knot in the photo is part of a Morning Star that I made 10 or so years ago (used only for beating the dust out of boat carpets!) - it has a golf ball in the center. I also use them at the end of a buoyant heaving line to give a person in the water something to grip while being dragged along.
